OMG! Wilmington’s new super cop has data in his gun not bullets!

Wilmington names Chicago crime strategist as police chief , The News Journal

Tracy was recently the chief of crime control strategies for the city of Chicago, a position he held for five years. While there, he implemented crime reduction techniques that resulted in the lowest murder rate the city had seen in 50 years, according to a news release from the city of Wilmington. Tracy’s strategies, policies, and restructuring resulted in a 30 percent reduction in overall crime during a four-year period and the lowest overall crime rate since 1972, according to Wilmington’s announcement.

WFT !!!!!!!!!!!!! Check the data  2016 / 762 murders the highest since 2002! And in 1971 there were 711! There was a downward trend until 5 years ago 2012 when that trend started to reverse!

Chicago’s 762 homicides in 2016 is highest in 19 years By Azadeh Ansari and Rosa Flores , CNN Updated 5:20 PM ET, Mon January 2, 2017  ” The city saw a surge in gun violence in 2016: 762 murders, 3,550 shooting incidents, and 4,331 shooting victims, according to a statement released by the department on Sunday. There were 480 murders in 2015, the most in the city since 1997.”

HOWEVER!!!!!!! Hats off to him for 23 years with NYPD! I think this where he’ll build some trust!

On Wednesday, Tracy promised Wilmington police officers the “best training, equipment and supervision to do your job.”

“I will foster an environment that is supportive, inclusive and meaningful,” he said.

OK troops lets give super cop an opportunity !

  1. The data driven approach to crime ought to work. Look what it’s done for education.
