Enact legislation to allow school districts to give waivers to students employed by a Delaware business to start school the first school day after Labor Day. Require proof of employment signed-off by employer! Require student to make up any missed assignment!
It makes no sense to disrupt all students for a handful still working summer jobs. If a student is responsible enough to hold a summer job they should be responsible for making up a few days of school work.
I see the merits of this legislation but I feel it infringes on local school board control.
