Governor Jack Markell’s office on Friday published a consultant’s 151-page diversity study of state government workplaces – the latest in a string of inquiries to be done after allegations of systemic racism in state government arose in 2015.
The study, which was based upon surveys of thousands of employees, was conducted by Bethesda, Maryland-based Ivy Planning Group after it won a $468,000 contract from the governor in September.
Authors of the report said the state must employ a top-down approach to solve issues of discrimination. The next governor should create a cabinet level position to direct diversity rules to each department, said Janet Crenshaw Smith, president of Ivy Planning Group.
Do let the door hit you in the ass Jack !
