No verdict in Red Clay tax lawsuit until February Matthew Albright and Jessica Masulli Reyes , The News Journal
A court will not decide until February at the earliest whether to overturn the results of a February referendum to increase property taxes in the Red Clay School District.
FYI referendum won’t be overturned because Red Clay would be required to return the money!
They point to “parent engagement nights” held at schools on the night of the vote, claiming those events were designed to attract parents to the polls. They also say Red Clay intentionally overcrowded parking lots, making it difficult for senior citizens to get into the polling places.
Red Clay has denied intentionally influencing the referendum.
Bullshit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those events were plan to coincide with referendum !!! The parking lot was a fucking nightmare! Kids and people going in all directions! I came close to say fuck voting for the referendum.
In a court filing, attorneys for the plaintiffs and the district agreed to submit written briefs, the last of which would be due Feb. 3.
Here is the compromise: Red Clay keeps the money without admission to wrong-doing and all future referendums and school board elected require all district school be closed including extra curricular activities. The district may send communications directly or via social media to parents and the community to go vote and support the referendum.
I urge state legislators to adopt legislation support school being closed on referendums and school board elections! Red Clay stack the deck because legislators allow it! The complaint wasn’t anything new! However, Red Clay has it down to an art!
