Howard High girl’s family says expert was promised Brittany Horn, The News Journal
The brother of Amy Inita Joyner-Francis said state officials promised the family a cardiac specialist would review the autopsy findings following the brutal death of the Howard High School student.
That review never happened, Anthony Joyner told The News Journal Wednesday.
I think it’s time for federal action !
“What (the medical examiner) did was not have a specialist view it,” her brother said, “and then ruled it whatever they thought it was.”
The state Division of Forensic Science, which performed the autopsy, said no such promise was delivered.
“There were no promises made to the family on any matter,” Wendy Hudson, spokeswoman for the state Division of Forensic Science, told The News Journal Wednesday in a statement after being asked about the family’s concerns.
However, later Wednesday afternoon, Hudson sent a second statement that said, in part, “the Medical Examiner did request additional review by an outside specialist. The results of that specialist’s findings were discussed in detail with the family yesterday and will be used to finalize the autopsy report.”
Amazing ! Which is it lady ?
