Moyer to change name of school! State board clueless & the K12 Question

After listening to the Delaware State Board of Education’s recording of the January’s meeting, Moyer is making a charter modification request. Moyer request will be changing the name of the school from, The New Maurice J Moyer Academy to, The Maurice J. Moyer Academic Institute. Also, since Moyer is unable to attact enough student to meet the agreed charter enrollment Moyer is requesting a modification to lower it’s enrollment requirement.

Now get this, when Hef asked what the new name of the school would be, Jenny Rhee and clueless team didn’t know! Yep, they “didn’t” know! However, it’s here in Moyer’s November board meeting minutes. Are you still sitting down? Now get this, No one asked what the financial impact would be with a lower student enrollment. Yes Secretary of Education Mark Murphy was in attendance! AMAZING! But do note the “Minor” modification request will be up to the discretion of the secretary.

The dynamics and financial impact of lowering enrollment is “minor modification” when original enrollment requirements couldn’t be achieved?

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These expenses were fy 2013 and it might be! Just Might! K12 is holding the bank note / mortgage whereas Moyer pays them? But wait? If true and I said “if” wouldn’t there be a conflict of interest if K12 is still providing services or funding the payroll for the school leader? Said “if”

Top States 2013: Overall Rankings

How in the hell can Delaware be #34 in education with New Jersey #1, Maryland #2 and Pennsylvania #6?

Let’s stop blaming Delaware teachers, Mike Matthews, Kilroy, John Young, DSEA and those who have the courage to hold our Governor Jack Markell accountable. I hope Mike Matthews and DSEA call out Jack Markell and at least demand the immediate removal of the Delaware Secretary of Education Mark Murphy!

Dear Delaware State Representative Deborah Hudson and other legislators who had the courage to support House Bill #23. Your job is not done! Please get H.B.#23 to a full vote! Ms. Hudson the ball is in your court!

Delaware schools fail to keep pace with it’s neighbors because Delaware state legislators both Republican and Democrat support Governor Markell’s wrongheaded education reform plan stuffed in his back pocket with campaign contributions from the likes of Rodel. New Jersey didn’t even recevied Race to The Top Funding. How is it possible they are #1 in Education? Delaware has a Secretary of Education, Mark Murphy who’s experience that somehow qualifies him for such a position goes like this, three years as a gym teacher, 2 years as an administrators and a corporate lobotomy by the likes of Rodel via The Vision 2015 Network. State Legislators are you BLIND? When there is failure at the top there will be failure in the middle and failure at the bottom and in the end, our children fail. Give us the community, parents and grandparents the POWER to have a say is OUR local schools.

State Legislators you are failing! Many of you promised the “delivery” of open government! Yet when asked to support the recording of public sessions of traditional , votech and charter school board meetings you coward in the corner! The parent and community needs to engage in local education issues but at the same time need to be home with their children. Recording of board meetings give parents that “window”! Gives state legislators the same “window”! Debbie Hudson wake up! Publius odd as it is , I do respect you and you right to your position.  What I am seeking is not a witch hunt! It’s was poor communications and a deep underlying agenda that we’re all scratching our heads about re: Red Clay’s inculive agenda. You might of been there to see first hand. The “yes” vote on ELL middle schools was a down-payment on the next set of yes votes coming in March. You see me bitching about Moyer but you don’t hear me saying close it! I want it open like transparency. You use your money and corporate power to keep the windows closed! That’s a shame because now demand for change will breakdown the doors rather than open the windows.

Did everyone see this?

Why did only “one” state legislator step-up for ELL students last night Posted on January 16, 2014 by kilroysdelaware

These legislators claim they stand for the people yet refuse to stand with them in their hour of need confronted with a confusing Red Clay agenda. My God, these legislators live in Red Clay and it’s not a question of infringement on local control because these legislators are part of the local community. Only one state legislators living in Red Clay showed the courage or rather the responsibility to serve her community and that was State Representative Kim Williams.

Rep Debbie Hudson! Right here right now I am telling you I stop being a member of the Delaware Republican Party because you decided to be a Markell Democrat and surrendered H.B.#23 to a Speaker of The House desk drawer veto via locking H.B.#23 in JFC. Debbie two more school districts volunteered to record their board meetings. Brandywine and Colonial since H.B.#23 was introduced and dumped on JFC. So now we have, Red Clay (fyi they will now post recordings within 24 hours of the meetings) Christina, Capital, Brandywine and Colonial. The Delaware State Board of Education records their meeting as a result of legislation I requested you support and you did! Thank you. But Debbie the job is not done! Don’t let Copeland’s ownership of a charter school scare you! They are public schools and his is doing fine and he is doing a good job! But Copeland and Lavelle, OMG inspired me to push for open government in in education such as with the online checkbook registry , state P-card registry and requirements for school citizen financial review committees! Debbie, it was I who pushed and was successful in getting Red Clay’s started! It happen before the DE DOE Financial Recovery Team was ordered.

Delaware public schools are ranked #34 out of 50 while surrounding bordering states are #1 , #2 and #6. The Markell plan has FAILED! Mark Murphy join ranks with Jeb Bush via Chiefs for Change and Rep Scott chairman of the House Education Committee supports that move and has asked other legislators to do the same! Very sad Debbie! Very said!

Dear Delaware State Legislators, honor your campaign promises for open government or the people will find others that will!

Government cannot be it’s own watchdog as the people are better suited. We are the “We” in We the people! The existence of  America’s and state government was a result of the people defying the wrongheaded British rule it. Delaware legislators you are to represent the voice of the people and refusing to allow us to hear your voice (school boards) is alarming.

Lt Govenor Denn you are a good man but it takes great men who are the real change agents! You’ve proudly aligned yourself with Governor Markell even though you were elected independently of each other. Yet in less than three years you’ll seek reward for your support of Jack! I don’t think rewarding failure is elected one who sits in the shadows clapping his hand for such failure in leadership when it comes to education.  You’re banking on the like of Rodel and other business leaders who continue to push failing education agendas. In one year it will be the year 2015 and I from what I see Rodel’s Vision 2015 isn’t what the bankrolled in their political contributions. We have three Rodel schooled leaders at DE DOE One retiring, one put in timeout and another that clearly needs to be booted out A.S.A.P..
