Tune in to Comcast Channel 28 this Sunday at 9pm. I’ll be appearing on the Norman Oliver program with Nancy Willing as guest host. I’ll be discussing some issues of interest related to education, particularly a wrap-up of some of the legislation that was passed (or not passed) during the first half of the session. Good-government guru (and a personal mentor of mine) John Flaherty will also be appearing, as well as fellow Wilmingtonian Devon Hynson. Looking forward to it! Mike Matthews
Folks this is going to be an interesting show and you don’t want to miss it! Who knows, Matthews might make the connection that part of the reason Delaware’s education reform is so fucked up is because Governor Jack Markell is the self proclaimed education czar. It’s time to stop blaming the “system” ( system = a convenient word to use when one doesn’t want to expose the real players). I am confident Mike will be a real voice for the new generation of public school teachers and reform efforts that keep the dollars in the classroom and less going to Wall Street. We need more teachers and lower class sizes not more administration and consultants.
For those who don’t know, Mike Matthews is a local rock star and an emerging voice for real change in government and education. Mike Matthews was one of the grounding breaking Delaware bloggers (Down With Absolutes) who set the bar calling out our elected leaders and school boards. Yes in deed, Mike, and Jason (Delaware Liberal) and Dan Garrett (Delaware Watch) gave Kilroy the inspiration and courage to blog.
As for Nancy Willing (Delaware Way) OMG, it’s great to see the 60’s and 70’s generation keeping the spirit alive. When it comes to protesting the 60’s and 70’s generation wrote the book! Nancy is very smart and knows when shit gets sugar-coated to dodge the truth! Check out Delaware Way and you’ll see what I mean!
Be sure to tune in, Comcast Channel 28, 9 p.m. Sunday (tomorrow) August 4th.
