Slipped in HB 117: Hudson not happy with new board members?

Does Debbie Hudson feel there is cheating going on? Does this rule apply to “all” elected officals or just school board members?

  1. Maybe Hudson is buddies with Vavalla who feels that the election was stolen from her. She was robbed, I tell ya–robbed. Yeah. Right. LOL

I heard this yesterday. As it stands, all elected officials have to file campaign finance reports. All elected officials EXCEPT school board folks. Someone DID make a comment yesterday about Randolph and Williams being endorsed by the union, though they didn't name them. I don't think it was Hudson who made that comment, but she's pretty involved with Red Clay issues, so I'm guessing that could be the reason why she submitted the amendment, which was approved via a unanimous voice vote.

She doesn't give a shit about Red Clay as you don't see her at any board meetings. She is pro charter and was a "former" member of the school board for Pencader Charter High School.

Big f'ing deal if the union support Kim and Eric after all they as parents are much more a stakeholder than the status quo was.

The Republicans had a strong hold on Red Clay for many years and the tide is turning. However, unless the new board start approving all contracts we won't see real progress. Bob signed the $300,000.oo and the bride in wating did not to stop him and supported him.

Tell you what maybe we should get the lobbyist out of legislative hall. Looks like we'll expose ms. Hudson campaign finances.

  4. Know what? I'm cool with this.

If people want the school board elections to be on par with the General (HB117), then damned right, they follow the same rules. I think our views are skewed (from each other) because of the districts we are aligned with (I at least have an honorable board down here), but I'm telling you, if HB117 goes into law, there is going to be the same cat-scratching for what will become politics-minor-leagues (school boards) as there is for legislative offices. The days of the couple-hundred-bucks campaign coffer for school board will be long gone! Welcome in the interest-donor as well as the group-endorsement donor. You want part of the November game, then prepare to play by the November rules.

  5. I doubt if many are opposed to this–it just seems strangely close to the Red Clay school board elections and hudson is a Red Clay legislator.

Trust me, the unions involved would make sure that all was done correctly. Nothing to fear. The opposition is just surprised to find that someone else has discovered how to go about winning an election.
