For those charter schools that didn’t meet next year’s student enrollment numbers their reports /plans are due tomorrow 5-21-2010
Read all about it: May 1 enrollments for charters Delaware Ed by Nichole Dobo
In an effort to best plan for potential enrollment shortfalls, DDOE requested a revised draft budget from each school that, according to the May 1stsubmission, is under the 80% of approved pupil enrollment. The revised draft budget must specifically reflect how the school would operate with the number of pupils submitted in its May 1st submission. An overview of the budget cuts made in the draft budget must be included in a cover letter, no longer than one page, to accompany the draft budget. This draft budget must be shared with the full charter board and include such a statement verifying that such action occurred and also must be signed by the Charter Director & Board President upon submission. This draft budget is due no later than close of business, May 21st, 2012.
Pencader is at 66% enrollment level, Moyer 46%, Delaware College Preparatory 79% and Thomas Edison 79%.
I hope the Delaware Department of Education doesn’t drag ass in making in decisions in regard to closing any of these charter schools. Parents need to know A.S.A.P. if any of these schools will be ask to close.
