Mommy,Mommy! Look! Someone who has come to three school board meetings sent me my report card in the mail today! by Transparent Christina

We’re getting into that time in the election cycle where were flooded with all those campaign flyers and robo calls. School board candidates start early because their election is May 8th. Can candidates oversell themselves? But in the case of school board elections, many of the flyers aren’t from the candidate themselves. I love the flyers that aren’t endorse by the candidates and wonder why these 3rd parties act of if the candidates have a physical plan. Why don’t the candidates just mail their plans to the public? Markell wrote an entire books. You’d think a school board candidate could write a few pages.
STOP THE PRESSES
“THERE’S NO ROOM FOR NEGATIVE CAMPAIGNING”
Although I have made it publicly known that I am disassociating myself with the negative fliers sent on behalf of my campaign, I do feel the need to also place this statement on my website. I did not send the fliers out, nor did I approve them. While I appreciate the work of an advocacy group supporting my candidacy, I do not believe in negative campaigning. Serving on the Christina School board would be a privilege and an honor. I do not desire to tarnish that honor by making offensive statements regarding the board as a whole. I would like to thank all of my followers for their support and encouragement.

Not exactly a distancing statement. Frankly, I am looking for complete disavowal.
Q: Why do politicians use negative campaigns?
A: Because they are usually successful.
LOL ! I think you are right!
I live in the CSD and have not received a single flyer or phone call related to the upcoming election. I am feeling left out.
I happen to be a bloody foreigner (taxation without representation and all that stuff) but my wife is American and a registered voter.
All it took to turn me off was realizing, through reading all the blog debates, checking out some stuff on facebook, and asking questions like ‘does _______ (insert whoever here) support charter schools’ and hearing answers like ‘______(insert whoever here) supports children’, skirting the question, that this is just an election of who supports charter/choice vs non. I didn’t read everything about everyone running in every district, but from what I read, there only seemed to be a couple who stood out in my mind as sounding upfront, the lady in Red Clay for one.
I am fed up with it all and am turned off. I would have been turned off even without any flyers. I am wondering, however, why I didn’t get any in my mail.
@pencadermom
You probably did get them in the mail. If you’re at all like our family, several got thrown out with the ads that I only found out about later.
@Newark…don’t feel badly, I haven’t gotten any flyers either and live in the CSD district (and am a “bloody American!
) ! LOL. I only have seen them on here and John’s site…which may not be a good thing, because I am leaning towards the one who has been picked at/on, and have seen nothing of the other candidates ads.
