Those who wish or dare to run for a school board seat have until Friday March 2, 2012 4:30 p.m. to do so. If only one person has file and others don’t step up, that person wins by default. The incumbent board member whose seat is up must also file. If no candidates the school board will fill the seat.

Goes like this folks! School board elections doesn’t attach many voter in contrast to other elections. There have been talk of moving school board election to the same time as general elections. However, there is push-back for various reasons! One being school board elections would be come political. As you see board members don’t run under political affiliation.
There is this old saying, “if you don’t vote don’t bitch”. Well, I don’t always buy into that but if you do vote you have a right to bitch louder!
Being in the school board is no doubt a thankless job and local school board members don’t get paid like other elected officials. Kind of makes it sound as if other elected officials do it for the money. It cracks me up when elected officials claim they are some kind of volunteer when in fact school board members are and they have to walk the election gauntlet. Sure the unions have their voices and well as the wrongheaded reformist. Well, I guess the wrongheaded reformist would say unions are wrongheaded.
So do you favor moving school board elections to the general elections? Do you favor a two five year term limit? Also, there was a push that only registered voters be able to vote in school board election! What do you think?

1. Keep the elections when they are.
2. Favor 2 term limits for every elected office in the state.
3. Either let ONLY property OWNERS vote (not renters) or let anyone who can prove they live in the district vote, including visitors from other countries whose children may be attending district schools. Either exclude based on ownership or include all.
Maybe this will be my last comment since I’m being called a stalker.
