Delaware State Police Cpl. Jeff Hale said five youths, one of them a student from A.I. duPont High School, were driving in a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee along Hillside Road when the jeep went off the road and struck a utility pole.
Hale said the group had fled in the jeep from the parking lot of A.I. duPont High School 15 minutes prior to the crash, after officials were about to confront several of them who were trespassing. They fled the scene of the crash, Hale said.
