Obama to Repeal Military’s Gay Ban
“Obama also called on Congress to repeal the Defense Of Marriage Act, which limits how state, local and federal bodies can recognize partnerships and determine benefits. He also called for a law to extend benefits to domestic partners.”
Clearly President Obama supports breaking down the barriers to civil unions and I find it odd with Democrats in control of Dover they don’t fall in behind their president.
“President Barack Obama restated his campaign pledge to allow homosexual men and women to serve openly in the military, but left many in his audience of gay activists wondering when he would make good on the promise.”
I guess it will be up to Governors like Jack Markell who need to pass law making gays human in each states. Perhaps Arne Duncan should expand Race to the Top funding to include infringing on other aspects of Delaware’s local control and tie releasing Gays from the chains of Delaware’s government discrimination.
It’s time for America and Delaware to break the chains of their own ignorance and pass civil union laws for Gays.
